Currently underway on the expansion of the John Deere Distribution Warehouse Expansion. This project is a 97,898 square foot expansion with expected completion by summer of 2011. Key note Feature of this Project is the re-use of existing pre-cast concrete panel to create a uniform appearance of this timeless building visible from the QEW Niagara while passing through Grimsby. This building is one of the first buildings in Canada to specify a siphonic roof drain system, originally developed in Europe, which has allowed G S Wark to create cost savings for our clients through our abilities in utilizing industry leading resources.
Currently underway on the addition of a Shipping Office for the John Deere Distribution Warehouse. Consisting of a 2 storey 2,993 square foot office building comprised of structural steel stud framing and exterior cladding system. Completion of this project is expected for summer 2011.
Modification of the existing interior warehouse facility required in summer 2011 for the completion of John Deere Training Room. This modification will house the John Deere training staff at the Grimsby location. Key note features will be the epoxy flooring system.
HOMESTEAD CHRISTIAN CARE
Dr. John M. Perkins Center, a project by Homestead Christian Care is set for completion by summer 2011. G S Wark has completed the addition of the third floor and work is progressing on the renovation to all three storey's including the basement of this soon to be 46 unit Apartment Building. Previously the home of the Driftwood Tavern & Hotel located on Main Street east, originally built in the 1940's with a major renovation in the 1960's, is a testament to G S Wark's abilities to provide quality workmanship on extensive renovations to Building's in our City of Hamilton.
BRUCE COUNTY HOUSING- SAUGEEN SHORES
G S Wark upon completion of the Bruce County Housing project will have to date completed over $100,000,000.00 of contract work for Housing, Social Housing & Retirement facilities.
Bruce County Social Housing consists of a two building complex containing 36 units with a gross building area of 35,590 square feet. Key note feature of this complex is a geothermal system consisting of 120 wells at a depth of 110 feet, this system provides an efficient and cost effective heating system for this complex helping to contribute to our sustainable future while still providing reduced heating costs.
SMART CENTRE - HAMILTON MOUNTAIN PLAZA
Formerly known as Hamilton’s Woolco Plaza now operated by Smart Centre is a landmark location on Hamilton’s upper mountain. G S Wark is currently under construction of the front entrance for the new Hamilton Mountain Plaza which will be the last standing structure of the original Woolco Plaza.

For over a year G S Wark has been a member of the Canadian Green Building Council and is proud to announce that we now have LEED certified staff to provide all requirements needed to construct a LEED Certified Building. Through the last year we have invested in both our Management & Field Supervision department's to train our personal in the Canadian rating system's set out by the Canadian Green Building Council. Our staff is now certified by the Green Building Institute and proud to be able to provide the service required to construct a LEED Certified Building for are Clients.
